Oh, dear... Deep sigh:) Mort, what a beautiful book! Except the ending is not for children, and, of course, you know that:) What a way to depict the inner rift between the lure of the familiar and the desire to escape from it. I can relate:) Except...one must go beyond...One must make a commitment to oneself, to one's dream, whatever it might be at the moment. Going beyond the universal sadness is what it's all about. No denying sadness. On the contrary. And...moving beyond, integrating the past with the present...They can coexist. We are always a new entity, every single day.
